Cerakote application question

When coating a bolt action (without bolt), barrel nut and barrel, is it better to coat them as a unit or separately?

I see no advantage to coating the parts separately esp with shouldered barrels when all is the same color, or multicolor/camo. Less to plug/mask off- and more importantly, eliminating the risk of marring the finish in any way when assembling coated parts. With camo, always together to get continuity of the pattern.

I would do them separately if for some reason there were different colors involved.
