CFE223 in a .223

Re: CFE223 in a .223

Haven't shot a lot of it but, I used 27.0 gr. with a 55 gr. M-193 bullet and got about 2MOA out of it in two AR's, a Sig 516 and a Colt CAR-A3.

I tested 10 rds. using a 68 Hornady OTM with 25.5 gr. and got it to shoot about 1MOA (.98" & 1.2") in the CAR-A3.

It's a tad slower than H-335 and it will fill the case a bit more.

There's a You Tube video out there of a guy testing CFE 223 in his AR-180 having jams and FTF. He used 24.5 gr. which is under the recommended minimum starting load (26.0 gr.). He also complained that he couldn't get enough powder in the case.

I had no malfunctions in the two rifles, but I only tested 45 rounds. 27.0 grs. filled the case to the bottom of the neck and I had no issue seating a M-193 bullet. It worked fine for me.

I also got it to shoot fairly well (.7 MOA) out of one of my 308 bolt guns using
46.5 gr. with a Nosler 175 OTM.
