I got the trigger (CG extreme mod 22 w/ safety and bolt release) installed into the action (rem 700 5R) and adjusted without problems, and it feels great. On trying to fit the action back into the whiskey 3, the trigger housing is contacting the rear of the trigger well and won't allow the chassis bolts to line up. Also, there is some minor rubbing on the chassis from the safety lever. I'm thinking it wouldn't be a big deal to file or slightly dremel the chassis to make things work, but thought I'd get opinions here first. I'm also not sure what to use to touch up the chassis to prevent rust and match the finish after modifying. Anyone done this or had this problem? The outlined red areas are the contact points that need to be relieved. I really don't feel good about hacking the chassis but it's looking like the only option if I want to keep this trigger.

I had the same problem with a timney trigger rubbing on a 700 SA W3. The safety would not actuate. I saw where it was rubbing and just relieved the points with a file. The chassis is aluminum and won't rust...

It was hard to file on something I just spent that much money on but it was done in 10 minutes and I was able to take it out and shoot.
