With it being summer I’m wondering about these chamber chillers. Last match I went to was just shy of 100*. Stages have 8-12rds fired in 90 seconds and they run through the stages pretty quick. Chambers/barrels don’t have much time to cool in that kind of environment. So my question is do you think they’re worth the money? Do they actually work well?

They work to a dagree ,i use them when testing loads more than anything else, reducing down time waitiing around for barrel to cool , but if you need more power go for inflatable matress air pump .

In any case expect modest resoults especialy in high ambient temps ,as internal barrel surface is not that large compared to outside surface. Also in case of Stainelss barrels , material is not that great as conductor of heat . Chromemolly is magnitudes better in that respect.

The hunting cooling rack that blows air both around and trough the barrel is hard to beat. I have seen number of those in use when smiths zero hunting rifles.

I picked one up off a prize table recently. I have a different model as well...the yellow one....Barrel-Cool(?) I think?

Anyway, I don't like the CC as much. It does have a bigger fan, but it does not stay put in my chamber (Bighorn TL3/6dasher) and constantly falls out...even when bungeed to the bolt handle.
The battery lid falls off all the time and the switch is in a hard to find and reach place. Also, the fan is exposed on the bottom and tends to come into contact with things easier and stop mid-spin.

If you want, PM me your address and I'll give you mine to try. Takes 4 AA batteries.

It all depends on the volume of air they are capable of moving. 2 yrs ago, I bought a barrel cool, waste of 40 bucks. All it really did was get my ass ridiculed by friends.

I have a chamber chiller. The 3d printed nozzle has been broken a few times in my bag so they're fairly fragile unless something has changed. Cools the barrel ok. Helps greatly if you have a can and it starts giving you issue with mirage.

I got a chamber chiller and yes the 3d printed nozzle broke off mine in like a week. They sent me a free replacement and that nozzle broke off as well. I gave up. I have the yellow one now which is much better made. While it works ok on barrels, I use it all the time on my cans. Instead of sitting waiting to put a scalding hot can in your car to melt something I remove it from the rifle with medical grade high heat rubber sheet I keep in my bag then throw the chiller in it. Can is cooled down in a matter of minutes.

Yeah I have read multiple other people say that the nozzle is very fragile but this is the first I’ve heard of them used on the can. Mine is currently in jail but I’ll have to give that a try when I get it.

Thanks for the info guys.

I see the pic of a yellow one on their site but not listed to buy. 123 powered?
