Hey all, I have been firing FP 168g Match Ammo with my Rem 700 5R with decent success. Recently went to the range with Hornady 168g Amax which I found shoot even tighter groups out of my rifle. The only issue is when chambering the Hornady round, it is a much tighter fit and I'm finding it difficult at times locking the bolt home. This is my first bolt rifle and I'm wondering, should I be concerned about this? Is there anything I should be doing?

The ammo is likely too long for your chamber. Measure the chamber with something like the Hornady gage. Then measure the ammo and compare. When you find the base to shoulder datum is too long, call Hornady.
