First, let me say that I'm a huge fan of RRS and own many of their products. This isn't meant as a bash, more a question/suggestion that might increase versatility.

So...would it be possible to make the SOAR clamp adjustable? Some way to adjust the locked tension (in reality, this would be the locked width) to accommodate Arca and pic rails that are either A. out of spec or B. on the high/low end of the spec so they either fit very tight or somewhat loosely. I'm envisioning a system much the how you adjust the ADM mounts that come with Atlas bipods.

A lot of the good adjustment ideas are patented, some other procedures are just not what we envision in our products of RRS quality.
Our clamp is designed to fit the min-max spec for Mil Std 1913 as long as they are in spec.

The other main reason we don't make our gear adjustable is, we lay out our standard free for anyone to use. And we follow it very closely.
If you use it, the lever release clamps will work across all variety of products without the constant adjustment like those adm mounts on bipods.

Thanks for saying you love the gear.

I am always up to listen to suggestions and it has been talked about many times, internally.

If you want adjustable, and you want it soon. We do make screw knob clamps.

Can you make a lever clamp for a bipod that doesn't take the spacer? The stack height is terrible and the added complexity only increases the price. I don't need my bipod mount to fit a tripod, only a bipod.

it used to be much thinner actually. When it first came out it was half the thickness, but then Atlas moved to the Cal, then Thunderbeast, and magpul. What they all have in common is they got rid of that internal ball joint housing in the V8 line which took away the ability for us to get minimal thread engagement. Yes its possible i am working on it. I dont have a time frame for it, as we are trying to get every product for the most part that we have back in stock before that. When it is worked on it will be using our patented dual clamp if it makes its way out of idea.

I think you mean Atlas standardized on the ARMS 17S pattern. The V8 was the exception, 17S mounts have been around for the last 20 years. Why not just make a lever mount that uses the 17S interface like the BTC-Pro instead of using the adaptor plate? The lever by itself is fine, all of the other hardware bloats up the mount. I get that it means designing and making another individual part but the adaptor sucks. I have both and the SOAR lever is my least favorite of the two because of how high the rifle sits above the bipod. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't buy the SOAR lever for a bipod. It's great on the 34L tripod I bought from you, it isn't great on a bipod. Come on, throw us a bone.

No I meant what I said.

What I was talking about was our adapter was much much thinner. B&T Bipods before the cal had a hole that ran through the housing from the top. If you take off a clamp from an Atlas V8, PSR, whatever model that canted and panned there was a hole there. When they moved to the 1st cal version it was gone then we saw that the mount needed to be taller. Then with the Thunderbeast and magpul it was the same.

But yes I understand the height complaint and can agree with you. I run them on mine and they work, but they could be lower. And like I said we have something, at least an idea in the works. But we are a small company with a lot of products and our current products are having a hard time staying in stock. So first things first fix our issues. Unless you want us to be like every other company you see at shot, release products and they aren’t available for a year.

We, myself included want to make the best products possible in our line. Looks, feel and the mechanics of it. There is a way to make it better we will try.

The SC LR wasn’t designed for a bipod, plain and simple. It was designed for the ballhead and repurposed. So we will see what we can do. In the interim we came out with the btc pro using the ARMS17s standard that we new about and figured would make people happy as well.

That’s enough gabbering one post at a time.

I’ll try and get something as soon as I can, I’m. The mean time thank you for supporting us by purchasing and enjoying the other products we have!
