If removing a collapsible stock on a .308 AR (LMT MWS) to change to a full length A2 tube is the standard A2 5.56 caliber spring and rifle buffer suitable for the heavier caliber to be used?

An A1/A2 receiver extension is the same for an AR-15 as an AR-10.

An appropriate AR-10/LR-308 rifle buffer and corresponding spring will be necessary. You can pick up either an Armalite or DPMS rifle-length buffer and rifle-length buffer spring such as those seen here for example:

If money is no concern and you want the best, get with Clint Butler for one of his heavy buffers/spring combos for the LMT MWS, including his line of anti-tilt buffers that are designed and tested for use with your rifle:

    Good luck!
