changing out the ARM-R handgaurd for...

I got a LWRC M6A2 with the original 9" ARM-R rail system. I want to put a Larue or other high end rifle length (12" or more) set up on it to aid in my shooting position ( I like to shoot with my guide/ forward arm strecthed out) any help with the tools or overall experince with this swap would be great to hear.
