I’ve got a good load worked up but I’m switching powder. Everything else is staying the same. Im thinking if I match my old load’s velocity to this new loads velocity then the dope should be the same. And that’s assuming I don’t run into pressure signs, so I’ll back off and work up obviously. is that correct?

If velocity stays the same, dope should theoretically stay the same. Assuming it is trued and correct in your ballistics program.

Someone will be along to correct me shortly.

Yep, correct. Just have to re-zero with the new load recipe. And dope shouldn’t materially change unless new mean velocity is more than 25-30 fps in either direction.

Why fix what isn’t broken?
