I want to shoot regular Small rifle primers out of my 6.5 Grendel AR-setup(EX: Federal 205M Match, CCI #400, CCI BR-4, Rem. 7 1/2 BR) but everything listed in the load charts shows MAGNUM primers. Many people I have asked said it makes very little difference from magnum to Regular in the grendel unless your going over 35 grains. Now when I use the regular primers (ex. Federal Match 205M) and im following the load data thats using the magnum primers do I have to raise or lower the powder charge or just keep it the same? Need answer. Thanks

Re: Changing primers question. Important!

My understanding is the call for mag. primers has more to do with using ball powders. Some regular primers (WSR, WLR)are hotter than others and would likely bridge any difference.

How many reference sources are you using? I'd start a whisker over the minimum load using the match primer of your choice and see what's what.
