Chasing the Cheese: Big D Section 8 Mob Scene

Re: Chasing the Cheese: Big D Section 8 Mob Scene

Looked like the Israelites crossing the Jordan River, headed for the Promised Land. And our tax dollars are paying for it.

Just imagine if you had something other than housing vouchers that they really wanted over there on the other side of that parking lot. I see scenes like that and can only imagine what it would be like for us to go through wide-spread shortages of food and other resources. Scabby knees from a fall would be nothing.

Amazing thought, isn't it?

Pathetic. Apparently they didn't learn anything from when this happened in Detroit a few years ago.

What makes it even sadder is that they are in line for AN APPLICATION, not a cash handout or any type of guarantee... so why is it so important to be first? How many that scrambled to apply are not even eligible?

How many times must municipalities repeat this same fiasco... until someone is trampled to death?

Piss on entitlements, and all those who collect them without a dire need.

Old news. Atlanta last year or the year before (There was a thread on it):

Re: Chasing the Cheese: Big D Section 8 Mob Scene

I've seen behavior like this for things of far less value such as cheesy chains of plastic beads, cups, wiffle balls and other crap at parades where children are trampled by greedy, often drunk, adults.

Something for nothing is a plague as old as man and there will always be those who will manipulate that desire, even to the point of offering to further the addled minds of their preferred consumer: Constituent.

Frankly, I can't help feeling there was a fair amount of greedy overreach on the part of the fellow who fell to his death last week at the Ranger's game.

Sometimes we reach beyond our grasp; The old guy had the ball lined up in his glove...

Re: Chasing the Cheese: Big D Section 8 Mob Scene

I love the line the girl said towards the end "I work 3 jobs, it'd be nice if I get this so I don't have to work as much". It'd be nice to think of stuff like this as isolated issues, but it seems be be a growing problem.

I'm with you! If they put half as much effort into working as they do trying to get free help .... they wouldn't have any problems.
