Cheap NV optic

We have some bolt action and sbr semi auto rifles in 300 blk. We are talking 100 yard max mostly unless just hazing pests past that.

We shoot subs and want to get a NV optic or two, and money is tight right now.
They will be used on hogs as well and are considered pests and legally shot or otherwise dispatched at nite. Other chicken stealing and egg sucking pests as well

Any of you use these I found from ads on the hide?

I would be looking at thermal honestly over NV for the use case you described.

I acknowledge the money is tight part but the thing you use to see the target probably isn’t where I’d try to pinch it.

If it’s 100yd max just use a flashlight.

Ya this is for a small farm mostly, in North Texas largest nite time critter is hogs.

Kind of tired of the flash light thing.

We have guns for other purposes but they're not quiet.

It's a tool I need to try.

I have actually sat behind that Zulu Digital a little, with that Sony processor . was surprised it was pretty decent image . Digital has come a long way over last 10 years.
Don't use that on-board IR Illum. attached . Just buy a good illuminate IR 850nm or 940nm and attach it out as far as you can towards the muzzle end. Much cleaner image you get.
Zulu Illum. it is right there attached to side of the digital unit .. They have their heads up there Ass on that one.. It's throws a BLOOM over the handguard and suppressor infront of the digi.Obj. and degrades the image. I was wearing my pvs14 on the helmet and was surprised at how much illum. bloom contamination.

I run a DNT 635R, I dont know what your budget is, but it works really well for what it is.

Thermal , night vision, day time... does everything pretty well. I run it on a short 308 AR and I have no problem hitting targets out to 600 yards with the ballistic calculator thats built into it.

Me personally, i would go with something that has lower magnification. I'd rather have more field of view for panning and looking around. You really dont need much magnification to shoot out to the distances you will likely be using the gun at.

This was at around 75 yards.

I own both a pvs 27, arken zuluz 5-20, DNT hydra 640

Thermal has its place

But often zulus works best and is way more affordable than a pvs 27 and or a thermal

And the IR illuminator ( zulus) works really really well


Resolution is better than pvs27
