This is my custom fusion Tact-5/ The slide has been ion bonded along with all the small parts. Wolff springs, trijicon tritium sights, picatinny rail for my M6X (light/laser). Yukon T-11 on the frame. Shoots lights out. Never had a malfunction of any kind. Now its my standard carry weapon. Check them out at http://www.fusionfirearms.com/

Rob Serva is the owner and he will help you with your build. You can custom a 1911 out as much as you want with any parts or colors you want. I have never held a better shooting .45 and would put it up against anything else out there made.

Re: Check out my full custom Fusion.45

Ordering orcess was easy....I was even able to make a change after I had the gun commissioned (I changed the sights used and the trigger). Not other gunsmith would have done this so far into the build process....and he did not been bill me for the changes. Top notch work and customer service.

As LEO, he knew I needed my gun quick so he had it built in about 7 weeks total time. Very impressive. I'll never buy another 1911 unless rob serva and fusion put it together. I meayou can pick everything sinfpgle parts color, it's coating, trigger style, hammer style, trigger pull weight, type of serrations, sights.......everything bro.

This gun will cut the center of an Leo target out with 14 rounds.

awesome pistol ive been looking into the ION bond finish also and was wondering if the picture did the actual finish any justice? it looks a little bit washed out on my computer!

Re: Check out my full custom Fusion.45

I picked up a lightly used Fusion recently, and it's a beauty. The IonBond Diamond-Like Coating seems to be extremely resistant to finish wear, but it does have the odd habit of "picking up" grime, almost like eraser. Rub your finger along the finish though, and the stuff comes right off. Net result seems to be that it looks much more worn than a Duracoated/Cerakoted pistol would if you take it out of the holster and look at it, but after a couple seconds of cleaning it looks like new again.

At 15 yards from a standing position I put 7 out of 8 rounds into a single hole measuring 1.25" wide, with the 8th round pulled low opening it up to 1.75".

Fit and finish are excellent, and my Fusion is pretty much hands-down my favorite 1911 right now. There's nothing else in the production world that comes close, and I'd still take the Fusion over many of the higher-priced semi-custom guns out there too.

Re: Check out my full custom Fusion.45

The frame and slide are all the same parts that high end shops use...you could get a Kart barrel if you like or a match barrel which is what I used.

The slide and all small parts are covered with ion bond which is totally kick ass...makes cleaning real easy. And the frame is covered with Yukon T-11...feels a little bit like light sand paper"ish". I have never shot a pistol that shoots this well. He even shipped me an extra recoil spring of my choosing. The only thing I had added was an extra extractor that was custom fitted to my gun while it was there so if I have a failure I already have a perfectly tuned extractor ready to go.

Not sure about the brand of slide...probably STI...frame...no idea but its definately no POS.

Love this rig....let me know if yall want to see some target pics.

Fusion makes all of their frames and slides in-house, to the best of my knowledge, using US-made forgings. And their parts have a pretty good reputation out there amongst 1911 afiocionados...

Re: Check out my full custom Fusion.45

The gun and quality is completely top notch...I more than got my monies worth with this one. For a .45, it eats any and all ammo without a hickup and the accuracy is so tight its unreal.

If I buy another .45 the only place I am going to is back to Fusion and having another built in the Tac-5 configuration but changing the colors up slightly and possibly having the barrel ion-bonded.

I'll vouch for this company until I die....I will be buried with this weapon when my time comes. If you are looking for a custom rig...this is the place to go...and no, I am not paid in any way by these guys.

Re: Check out my full custom Fusion.45

Finally got my Fusion to the range today, it's a hammer. If you're looking for a custom 1911 without the huge price tag Fusion is the way to go.

Check out the Fusion Firearms subforum over at m1911.org, he posts up practically everything he builds over there it seems like. Lots of interesting photos for sure.

Marcus, that's an awesome Recon build, and I'm loving the black/green look. If the red cocobola grips didn't look so good on my Fusion, I'd send it in to be refinished in OD like yours.
