You might get beaten, and no bond for false charges

Some cities and the areas around them should be considered no go zones

Let's just say when certain folks claim they are just doing their job and you can work it out with the court, the other party gets a different idea when it costs $5k to get your lawyer have it tossed out of court when they finally have enough pull to get a judge to look at the evidence and say why the hell did you arrest them, your own write up proves no crime.

So yes check your tail lights as well as your licence plate lights..

The system is hungry and doesn't care about you.

To get to where justice is always served, you'll need to go to robocop. And there better be one hell of a programmer.

On the day this mans plight happened there were likely hundreds of other instances nationally where an officer helped people with real problems. I saw state police fix the lights on a bus just last week vs. giving the driver a ticket or calling a tow truck.

It seems the bulk of this mans error may be rooted in living in the wrong place.

I hope he gets well compensated for the two years of hell he was put through by the dirty cop and busted system. Sadly, the tax payers will have to foot the bill.

    This.

The main reason why there is no accountability within the system is because the taxpayers end up having to be responsible for an agency or an individual officer's fuck up. That is why a lot of them simply do not care about committing repeat violations. After all, it is the public that pays for their wrongdoings. There is no discouragement and no negative reinforcement of unacceptable behavior.

Now, if lawsuit settlements start to be taken straight out of the offending officer's or commander's own pension or estate, the bullshit will stop so fast that the collective public's ears will be ringing.

Go’s both ways. It was a valid traffic stop. You can see the tail light out in the video. It’s pretty simple,
You get pulled over. Act like an adult. Accept the ticket or the warning. Instead he accelerates away during the stop. And yes, a vehicle is a deadly weapon.
Everything that went wrong with this incident is on the defendant, not the cop.
Now the prosecutor and the court? That’s another issue.

I hope he becomes a community activist and tells his peers not to make the same mistake he made. His two years of “hell” should have been a 10 minute traffic stop.

I just watched the video. Yep, that adds a whole new perspective to the case now.

I admire the fact that he did not succumb to the plea bargain and anything else they had tried to break him with, but if he had not gunned that accelerator, it would have made his argument much stronger.

I've pretty much started boycotting states that have restrictive gun laws or make a habit of treating it's citizens like lower class subjects. I figure if they can't accept the clear language of the 2nd amendment, I can't trust them at all. I simply won't go to or through those communist places. Maryland has been on my boycott list for a lot of years.
