I'd swear I've seen little 3-dimensional stickers for stocks to use as a reference point. I thought that they were called 'sniper dots'. My foo is weak. Anyone lend a hand and point me in the right direction?

They are known as "kissers" in the archery world.

Haven't heard them called "sniper dots" nor used on rifles but some people use them.

I would recommend the little silicon/plastic feet that are backed with adhesive for putting on the bottoms of objects so as not to mar wood table surfaces and such. They are cheap, available at Walmart, and are from 3M or Scotch.
