Chinese are groomed from an early age to be what they are going to be. So yes, I am agreeing with you, while they may be sent to Harvard to be a doctor, they knew from age 5 they were being groomed to be a doctor and their allegiance is paid for by the CCP, with family as the unwilling ransom, just in case they go rogue in the good old USA.

You know there is this old tried and true trick that when you want something smuggled in, make sure to send at least one unsuspecting patsy that you make sure gets "reported on" to get all the Uniforms all ganging up to share the glory of "the bust" and such while the rest waltz in just fine.
Other countries' agents routinely vanish or suffer fatal 'accidents' in Chinese custody. Don't we have a hantavirus vaccine that needs to be tested? Could save a lot of lives of farmers and ranchers who live in the western states where hantavirus carrying rodents are present. We have two subjects now.
Now just imagine a "weather" balloon floating across all of the major farmland in the US, dumping micro-clusters full of fungus-laden biological material across hundreds of millions of acres, all while the news makes up cover stories of why the US government refuses to do anything about said balloon because "it's just a friendly happy weather balloon that got a little lost!" and "it's too dangerous to shoot down over land, it might land on a tree or something!". It could have done an awful lot of damage while it made two loops over our entire Rocky Mountain states and Canada. YouTube hobbyists have been building IR laser blasters for years that can instantly set a wet tree trunk ablaze from 50 yards away. There is no reason why we cannot have larger ones mounted onto select fighter planes used for domestic airspace patrols. The payload bays of any potential unidentified balloons need to be IR lased thoroughly before interception so any biological agents carried inside can be sterilized by the high temperature first, or the shootdown will scatter the stuff and cause a bigger problem.
Why not use the IR lasers on the Democrats instead?

Second i imagine most of you never experienced these thing ,but in many 'autoritarian' states folks that want to go study and/work abroad need to tick all sort of boxes i guess in China its CCP pledge, quite common shit in second and 3rd world .In some cases even financial guarantees by the family etc third world shit , but not necessarily nefarious (in terms of them being spies ,agents or what not) as you imagine , for folks involved its mostly a burden they have to take on and play along if they wish to work/study abroad. I have in past worked in programs for 3rd world athlethes and teams coming to EU to train and compete under IOC patronage and we once had near 1/3 of the team defect in Germany ,the next group a year later had 2 patrons with them which we assumed were security services, long story short when folks defecting is a possibility states create mechanisms to try to prevent it .On the other hand it now seems mandatory pledges to Israel are coming to US campuses so third world shit becoming normal.

The prevalence of Gibberella ear rot tends to increase when cool, wet weather occurs during early silking. Extended periods of rain in the fall that delay harvest can increase Gibberella ear rot severity and potentially mycotoxin concentrations thus, impacting grain quality.
Gibberella ear rot will be most severe in continuous corn fields or in areas where there is wheat affected by Fusarium head blight (scab), which is caused by the same fungal pathogen.
