Has anyone tried to convert a Choate super sniper stock to take a five round mag? I have a Remington 700 Xcr in 300wm and would love to have a Drop out mag But the Choate stock as is will not allow one Unless it can be cut out in anyway, Ever herd of such a thing being done? Anyone?

Re: Choate stock

CDI right here in Fla can do it for you. I just talked to them about mine, SS stock and savage 10 fp in 308. Just installed CDI Bottom metal on my 700 sps and a inletted Choate Tactical, nice set up. Inletting is like $60. Give them a call, good people and local to Fla.

Re: Choate stock

do you all like your choate stocks? Im kinda leaning to the B&C medalist but just not sure yet. I have a Savage 12LRP with the HS stock that is just not getting it done for me.

inletting and bedding on choate ultimate sniper stock

SuburbanHick - I would like to see pics of your build on the U.S.S

Did you remove the trigger guard or is the bottom metal modified to fit in front?

Getting ready to do the same for a rem 700 sps bdl so all advice welcome.

I prefer the choate tactical to the Medalist, I do not like the bulky bench rest forearm on the B&C. I have a new choate arriving today for my new 7mm Rem Mag I have been working on. As I have plenty of fancy stocks, I no longer see the point in the mid price points, it is either top or bottom for me and I do not feel I give up much for the purpose of this project.

I'm running the Choate Tactical stock on my 300 Win Mag below. It was already opened up for a stock Remington floorplate, but I had to so some minor inletting with a 5/8" endmill for the M-5 Stealth/PTG bottom metal. If inletting on a blind magazine stock like the Ultimate Sniper or Varmint, I would probably send it off to CDI to have it done.
