Looking for information on the Choate stock system. Does it work? Or is it snake oil? Would like to share the experieces of someone who has used one . Did your accuracy improve or did you have to mess with it? What did you do? If you tried it on a Savage, even better.

Have one on a 300 wm Savage works well. Savage used them on factory guns in late 90's early 2000's. Mine has been bedded and weight added to stock.

Only complaint is the cheek piece is a little low and had to make a spacer

Using the Choate Savage 4.4in Tactical Stock with a Savage 11VT in .223, I got performance in the 9-Ring and mostly better at 600yd in F T/R competition using a generic handload (23.5gr Varget, Hornady 75gr HPBT Match). I was experiencing health difficulty at the time.

This uses the trigger guard bolt release. The rifle shot very competitively in local club matches at 300yd using the same load. The factory (plastic) trigger guard is a perfect fit, and has never given even a smidge of difficulty. The aluminum bedding block is both massive and impressive.

I'm 6 1/2ft tall, and installed three Choate LOP stock extensions, no issues. The addition of a Hawkeye adjustable cheek rest completed the installation.

I liked it so much, I duplicated the installation exactly with my 11VT in 308.

I used one on my savage 12 fv when I mounted my action it was crooked in the stock gunsmith had to bed it to make it run true down the stock. Had to add a check riser also it was to low. And added wieght in the back of stock because it was so front heavy, stock is hollow in the butt. I still use it but I think there is better options

I have the one that looks like an A5 clone with a 110FP in 300wm mounted in it.
Nothing to complain about for what I paid for it.
It's built like a tank, the action and barrel sit dead nuts straight in it and the rifle shoots phenomenal for a factory rifle.

I had a Choate Tactical stock that came on a Savage 10FCP back around 2010. Stock was good enough for what it was, and the rifle was overall very accurate. The complaints I had about that stock were more annoyances than major issues (rattles from sling mount, dovetail rail in the fore-end to mount hard-to-find accessories like bipod mounts, and it was heavy.

They have a newer version that has bottom metal for AICS-pattern mags but the price on that is more than an MDT Oryx, so its totally out of the question.
