Chopping barrel on browning BAR?

Oddball question: anyone know if a 7mm-08 Browning BAR can be cut down to ~19" and still cycle?

You might want to check with Browning on this one…

I know it's been done because I shot a cut down 338. Unfortunately it's not common so finding data might be really hard to do. Might be worth trying to find some people that specialize in BARS and start there.
