Went to the range with my buddy to try out his new 9"AAC BLK. I brought along my High Caliber Sales RECCE (16" 7 twist) and my Spikes Tactical M4 (16" 7 twist) to see how they shot MK262. Also had a mag of Black Hills Mk262 clone or whatever the hell it is.

I dont shoot through Chrono's very often, but the velocity spread seemed more than I thought it would be. What do you guys think? I only shot 5 rounds of each, as we were not there for this.

RECCE w/ BH 77 grain
2766
2655
2633
2655
2639

133 fps Extreme spread
2669 fps Mean
54 fps S

RECCE w/ actual MK262
2752
2639
2686
2761
2782

143 fps Extreme spread
2724 fps Mean
59 fps S

Spikes Tac M4 w/ Mk262
2727
2706
2637
2632
2706

95 fps Extreme spread
2681 fps Mean
43 fps S

Obviously these arent hand loads, but I thought the spread would be a little tighter. Both guns shoot very well with Mk262 so I am not too worried about it though.

Re: Chrono numbers

Personally, an ES over a hundred for that type of ammo (not plinking ammo) is unacceptable....Have you had a chance to true your ballistic firing solution? Perhaps your chrono was hit or miss. I tend to use my chrono to get a rough idea and true my firing solution/table based on my new dope (actual corrections).

Best of luck
