Chronograph recommendations?

Re: Chronograph recommendations?

www.shootingsoftware.com/chronographs.htm Ced chronograph has been the best that I have ever had and has never failed. The supplier link above has great customer service. Look thru there site.
I use with a short tripod from www.precisionriflesolutions.com for shooting prone, get double duty as a rest. If you shoot off a bench they have taller models, former USMC sniper and he and his wife a couple of the nicest people around.

Buy one with the features you want, including a printer if you wish. I do wish! But they all work or they wouldn't have a nitch in the market.

"Ced chronograph has been the best that I have ever had and has never failed."

That observation would tell us more if we knew what others you've had and what their shortcomings were. ??

Owned a Competition Electronics and a PACT before the CED. Both gave error readings on a regular basis. Both were picky about light conditions. Both would fail to pick up shots if you were more than about six or so inches above the windows. Used the CED for about three years now. Yet to get an error reading or not pick up a shot. Compared against two Chronys and an Ohler. The chronys were all over the place; one averaged over 100 FPS higher. The Ohler was very close on every shot.

Re: Chronograph recommendations?

I just ordered the PRO CHRONO PAL from Brownells, with the military discount it was 96.00 shipped. I've known a couple of people that have had em and liked em. Also they can be set up on a camera tripod.

Re: Chronograph recommendations?

Re: Chronograph recommendations?

I have to say that if your serious about what you do and want something very dependable then the PVM is the best thing you could get. If you just need something to play around with then the pro chrono works just fine for around 100 bucks. I have and just sold my oehler 35p because i got to use the PVM a couple of weeks ago. Its the best thing out there..... period!

Re: Chronograph recommendations?

Thanks for the offer boltripper it's got character! The PVM is little more than I'm willing to swing on the chrono. I appreciate all the advice and input and I'm going with the CED.

How did you test it against the Ohler? Did you test others? Thanks.

Re: Chronograph recommendations?

I use the Pro Chrono with digital remote. It has never failed except for the battery. I always cary a spare now. You must buy the remote $90 or you have to reset it between cease fires

Yes i put the same loads and tested them apart and together. It worked just as well or better then the 35p. I have used the pro and the pact as well. Never tried the CED.
