I clean my barrel after 500 rounds. How often should I be cleaning the bolt and action? As often as I clean the barrel? More than I clean the barrel?

enough to keep it functioning...i know 17 ammo can be on the dirty side..i clean my rimfires only enough to keep them functioning like i like them to.

Ok. I was usually cleaning it when I clean the barrel. The barrel is fine and the bolt knob is too. But the blueing is very slowing coming off where the bolt slides through the action. Peronally I don't really care if it's blued or stainless, but that's why I asked.

I clean my action far more often than my rimfire barrels. With a rimfire, crap in the bore is more like a good thing than crap in the action.
