Quick question for Badger Thruster or any muzzle brake owners...

How do you clean your brake? I've heard that carbon buildup in the brake around the crown will eventually detriment accuracy, so how can this be combated? Or is what i heard just bs?

Is there anyway to clean the rifle crown with a brake on?

Re: Cleaning the thruster brake?

In my limited experience, I've found with muzzel brakes that they do cause carbon to build up on a perfectly good crown. The brake I have threads on and off. When I clean the rifle I remove the brake to get to the crown and soak it down with "Carb-Out" cleaner. The "Carb-Out" cleaner does a pretty good job of softening up the carbon build up on the crown for me and makes it easy to remove without getting too intense on scrubbing and possibly nicking or scratching the crown. Other cleaners of your choice should work as well.

For the brake itself I toss it into a small can and soak it overnight with a solvent or "Wipe-Out" Foam cleaner and use a bore bursh to scurb it out.
