Cleaning UltraMatch Barrel

Hey guys, First time user here!

Went to clean my UltraMatch for the first time and ran into two issues.

1)Bought a Tipton Max Force for.22-.45. Figured this would sabe money from buying a bunch of carbon rods in different calibers. However, when the wire brush went down the barrel, even though the rod IS able to spin, it did not. Is this is an issue if the brush goes down and does not spiral with the barrel? Should I just buy a normal one piece coated rod that will "spin" better?

2) The second is my.22 jag that came with my winchester cleaning kit seems to barely nick the crown when I pull the rod back through the barrel after the forward pass. When the jag is off, no nick is felt or audible. What jags would you recommned I get to get around this? Perhaps use my .17 adapter with.17 jag??

Any help is appreciated as this is my nicest gun to date. Thanks!!
