1st article. Now we set the task of making oodles of em. They'll be for sale as well. This one is 0moa. 30moa's are coming next.
Might conjure up a question as to why. It's well established that the good ol M40 base on a SA is about as rock solid as it gets when it pertains to an M700. Adding horsepower in the form of a magnum cartridge just seems to make the application that much more appropriate.
Some minor changes on this type vs the old are a little more purchase surface with the front receiver ring. I narrowed up the clearance slot for the front lug considerably. These are also intended to be "keyed" in the back on the rear bridge vs just flattening the whole thing out. I also ensured the bridge contour married up well with unmolested LA ejection ports and added a clearance chamfer to the rear lug so that case rims have that much more room to get out of the way. If you look closely at the CAD drawing you'll see it. It matches the relief in the action closely.
Now onto setting up the receiver to fit it.
