Re: CMMG 308 question for those who own one
I purchased my CMMG 308 from CDNN in October. I have put a mixture of Winchester 7.62, Remington 180gr Core-Lokt, Federal Gold Medal and my reloads through it without a single malfunction of any kind. Current round count is around 600. Rifle seems to be capable of around .75 MOA of accuracy, but given that the rifle shoots better than I do that is hard to say for sure.
When I was deciding what to buy I thought long and hard between the CMMG offering and building my own around an Armalite AR-10 National Match upper. I ended up going with the CMMG because it already had the Magpul PRS I wanted and I decided that the quad rails on the Armalite were more for aesthetics than function. The only other issue for me was the Armalite sub-MOA guarantee, but everyone who owns one of the CMMG rifles (me included) has claimed they shoot better than MOA. I am happy with my purchase and would do it again.
Edit - I have had two parts break. In both cases CMMG replaced them without question. The first was a broken firing pin retainer and the second was a broken bolt catch. Other than not being able to hold the bolt open neither of these caused any sort of problem. The broken bolt catch is partially my fault - when doing load development I was single loading rounds in the magazine. After the single round was fired the empty magazine would engage the bolt catch. The repeated hits from the bolt carrier on the catch caused it to fail (the catch was absorbing an impact from the carrier after every round instead of after every magazine).
