Hunting & Fishing Colorado OTC 3rd rifle

This will be my first Elk hunt in Colorado since I've been stationed here and I'm looking for some input. From my research it looks like the best OTC hunt areas are going to be near Glenwood/Rifle or in Gunnison. Does anyone have experience with these areas or do you have a better area to suggest?
