Dug up some (not too good) pics of my 1911 custom. Started as a NIB Combat Gvmt. and after som slight modification by some very knowledgeable people it now looks like this.

Grips; Handmade from a particularly "knotted" part of a birch tree
Magwell; Handmade from steel, silver soldered to frame
MSH; Les Bear + 20LPI checkering (the original one had bad checkering)
Sights: Heinie Slant Pro figure 8s (tritium)
Barrel: Clark matchtype, throated/ramped etc
Bushing: Kings match
Holster,belt,magholder; Milt Sparks A1T
Other mods; Extended/slanted/serrated magrelease & lightened spring
heightened grip (see under triggerguard
smoothed/rounded edges all over
beavertail,hammer
trigger and all related bits&pieces
extractor(serrated as the slide in the rear
ejector
pinned gripsafety
20LPI checkering on frontstrap
removed firing pin safety
plungerhousing (staking was bad)
frame/slide handfitted/peened
...and some more...
Will feed "fireformed" casings along with any ammo I tried so far ;-)

And before anyone else comments; yes I`m aware of the fubar with the right mag...I was too concerned with trying to focus the %&@? cellphone camera to realize it back then...and they are WC 8-rounders, I leave a whole trail going through a long-course...at least I find my way back to the box that way...
