It’s got a full comm set up for goodness knows what purpose..
I have long forgot why I bot it.

I wore those as a mechanic when I was assigned to a tracked recovery crew. Those were much more comfortable than the old ballistic helmets from the 80's.

Thank you gents..what electronics/comm equipment did that plug into ?
 
Called a CVC(combat vehicle crew) helmet, as stated above for use with track vehicles mostly. Some crew on aircraft carriers use a version as well.
 
Perhaps one of these ??
