Well, they currently offer a .243 and a .308 in the long ranger, and the 6.5 is a nice in between caliber for a rifle that has gotten good reviews. Can't wait to read an actual review (p.s. bought a color case hardened Henry 30-30 a few months ago and love it!)
 
I could see a market for this. Probably not in the precision rifle arena, but the 6.5 Creedmoor has been touted as a superb hunting caliber, so folks that like to hunt with a lever gun might be interested.
 
Supposedly it has a much better trigger than the BLR because the whole FCG doesn't drop with the lever. Browning also doesn't make a 6.5 creed AFAIK

It made sense because they already make them with a .308 bolt head so they just needed to make new barrels for it. I think the mag release button is a little homely but it looks to be a nice rifle.

I just got the case hardened .357 with the 16.5" bbl, and I love it. I think a case hardened 45-70 is next
