Many of us that live here agree with you. I was born in New Mexico where things were a lot different. Lived in Virginia, Colorado, Michigan and now The new New Mexico california. I'm not even going to capitalize that "improper noun". Unfortunately many of us don't have a choice to leave just yet. Many industries have embedded themselves out here. I'm just hoping for the day we move to another state. I'm too vested in the company to leave now.... Although in the back of my mind I know I could sell my house, take the equity, pay the capital gains, move to a real state in the Union and buy a modest home outright and only have to worry about property taxes and utilities the rest of my life. That's the plan anyways when I retire. Got a long way for that day to come though.
