First off, I am not looking to spend a ton. I have an old Weaver K4 scope manufatured in El Paso. The reticle is a "post style", which I do not care for. Is there a company (or an old timer) that anyone is aware of that has the ability to change reticles to a simple crosshair? I would just like to be able to use this for my purposes. As it is it is of little value to me in its present form. Thanks.

Some collectors favor post reticles.

For what you would have to spend for even a "reasonably priced" optical technician to service your scope, you could buy a Nikon Monarch or used Leupold M8. Probably could get a 1-3x Weaver for $125-ish...

I would sell the scope if it is in working condition and go from there...

good luck!

Ironsight Inc. should be able to take of switching out the reticle. It will take awhile though. I have a Redfield 12X there to get serviced and I think it will be done in August/September time frame.
