Shithole
I currently have a Seekins Precision SP10 chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. It only has a 22” barrel. I am only able to get 2600 ish with factory Hornady Match 140 grain ammo. It is advertised to be 2750 I think. And my loads with 135 grain ATIPS only get to 2750 before I hit pressure.

Will the 26” barrel upper that I am thinking of buying from Compass lake get the factory Hornady Match 140s up to at least 2750? Or 2850? With that barrel length could I safely get the 135 grain ATIPS to 2850 safely?

Thank you

Does it shoot factory ammo ok? No need for small base sizing dies? Reason I ask is my Seekins won’t chamber Berger factory ammo.

Should I look at an adjustable gas block for it or does it not chew up brass to badly?

Thank you

Are you buying a complete upper or just the barrel? If buying the complete upper, they use Aero M5E1 Enhanced receivers, so It's highly recommended that you use an Aero M5 lower.

Just ordered one

I own multiple SP10's and 3 different CLE 6.5CM Bartlein barrels. Every barrel is different, some are faster than others. That being said you don't chase velocity in AR's.

The slowest barrel I own currently is a 24" CF Proof Research in 6.5CM. it shoots Hornady 147 Match at 2591fps, 140 American gunner 2632fps and 140 Match at 2650 fps

2850 with 135 ATips is asking a lot for a gasser but doable.

I was at 2820 with 130 bergers and a 24” Bartlien. H4350 and Lapua brass.

R16 might yield a little more speed but I may opt for a rifle +3 instead of +2 gas if doing so. It seems to have higher pressures at port.

I would be prepared to tune the barrel with an AGB and buffers. Maybe ask @padom about components. He's built a few. I've only built one 6.5CM large frame and it turned out great. Used an enhanced, heavy BCG, JP SCS buffer, and an SLR adjustable gas block to slow down unlocking. It's very gentle on my brass. I'm also shooting suppressed only. 24" proof barrel. Using StaBall I'm shooting 140gr Nosler CCs at 2720. I could do 2800 but accuracy is at 2720 and I like having a low pressure load. Using 4166 I got really good accuracy but it pressured out faster. Your choice of powder is going to matter as well
What primers are you using with the StaBall?

I would also like a lower pressure load as well which is why I’m opting for that 26” heavy Bartlein Barrel. As I understand it longer barrels result in less wear and tear on internal AR components and I should get an acceptable increase in velocity

I'm getting 2615fps from Hornady Match 140gn ELD-M out of my 6.5CM with 22" RLGS+2 so I don't think you are seeing crazy low velocity. My gun shoots with good precision/accuracy, shoots soft, and it's reliable which is more important than fast.

I just looked at my original post and realize I made a typo. I get 2500 ish with Hornady 140 grain ELD match, not 2600. I could only hope for 2600.

Did any of your SP10s have problems chambering certain factory ammo? I had issues getting Berger factory ammo to chamber.

The SP10 doesn't have M4 Feed Ramps, that was one of the first mods I made to my first rifle.

My SP10 and GAP-10 will not chamber Berger 140 Hybrids, they do good with Berger 130 AR Hybrids.

My 24” proof steel barrel shoots the 135 A-Tips at 2900 with 44.8 gr of StaBall. If you want speed, change powders.

My SP10 22” shot 147 ELDs the best, 2700 fps with 43.3 gr of StaBall.
GAP-10 22” shoots Berger 130 AR the best at 2850 fps with 43.0 gr H4350.
Proof 24” barrel in Seekins upper shoots 135 A-tips best, but have to seat them 2.845” at minimum, so I have to use KAC mags with that rifle.
