are there any competitions in any of the bordering states of kansas? id like to keep it about 6-8 hours from wichita ks

The only question is what kind of competitions are you looking for? In the North Easter Colorado Area ("Front Range") we have a match of some sort every weekend, sometimes two a weekend. Let me know what you're looking for and I can narrow it down. You'll want to look at the Colorado Rifle Club site. It's about and hour east of Denver so that would cut some time off your trip. They have both long range, tactical style matches and 3-Gun.

yea i do a lot of three gun all over but want to try the tactical long range matches and in ks there isnt much long range going on

we have a 600 yard range in hutch about 45 minutes from wichita, there just isnt that many precision matches and all from known distances

A couple of hours South of you there are tactical matches in Oklahoma.
These guys do a monthly club match but you would have to join and be a member
