So I know there are multiple threads discussing this but many are from earlier this year shortly after this optic starting showing up on shelves in North America. I am moving my Gen3 Razor to a rimfire and need a new scope on a centerfire PRS rig. I was leaning towards a ZCO 840 but have been looking at the 540i now also. For those who own or have owned what is the general consensus? I’d love to hear some pros and cons for this optic and some real world experience from match shooters.

Have you looked through them both? Both will have good service, both are good glass, but which looks the best to you. I am a diehard ZCO guy and have fair number of 840s and love them, you on the other hand may not.

I have not looked through the Kahles, I have looked through a couple ZCOs and it was impressive. The resolution was something I didn’t know I was missing. The FOV is what is pushing me towards Kahles. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get behind one. I’m just curious if there have been any widespread teething issues or bugs.

I looked through one a couple months ago. And the FOV is bigger yes, did I care no. Just not important to me as I love the 840. I was a nightforce ATCAR junky before and found I could to a 527 and get a better target picture than I could with my 7-35s. Do the reticles seem the same to you? I am a MPCT 1x or 2X fan ( they are same except for the tree on the 2X). That may help the decision. My spending enable of choice is Richard at CST, he can offer good and bad.

For sure the ZCO reticles are better. I would go 2x if I go that route. The skmr+ reticles are fine but the 2x checks more boxes. I just see the fov being a huge advantage on movers and the sporty stages MDs are getting implementing more often, which is why I am torn. I probably will call Richard. Thanks for the input.
