Well, I doubt it’s Aliens. More likely some kind of pulsar. But there is still stuff going on right above us all the time.

Sorry Barney... right below you. But you get the idea.

Even if it was a one way trip, I would gladly board just to see whats out there. As a kid I use to look into the night sky for hours on end threw a very cheap POS telescope an just wonder what it could be like. If there was an end to it,... what,.... was on the other side? Everything I can understand is threw the grace of God at birth, however when it comes to out there I still have a burning desire to experiance for my self even if it meant my death during. To have the opportunity to go an see,...I'd board the bitch in a heart beat,...

Speaking of blasting distress calls wondering if anything will answer, I need a new e-caller. Remote on mine stopped connecting to the caller.

Can't be any more underwhelming than the movie.
the movie wasnt great but i did like how they "thought out" how a original contact might work if the alien culture wan not hostile.

"no ones going to believe you..take a friendly form not to scare the less intelligent creatures/humans..etc"

better then the old smash and grab or vanishing people skit

It was written by Carl Sagan... he put a lot of thought into it. Took a year or two off from, I think, Cornell to write it. And the billionaire character in the plane is him... sort of.

It was a better book than movie. Matthew McConnaheygy sucked then, too.

Just after the time it's too late to turn around and return. They finally interpret the signal. It says that the three titted woman are lesbian man killers.
Not even the black widow type. You don't even get a chance to dip your wick before they kill you.

Ezekiels wheels historically have been full of sex maniacs. There have been two influx of them thus far and about to be a third.

They do all the dippin indescriminatly without the courtesy of a reach around. So lock up your wives, daughters, and farm animals when they come a callin this next time. Cause they surely will.

No matter what it is; at a distance of 500,000,000 light years, "It's been a long time comin, and it's got to be a long time gone"...

The book was very good; the movie, confusing as heck... I kept watching only to see if it had any actual content, or whether it drew any logical conclusions.

Basically, it ended up a nothing burger.

Greg

Hold strong, the Dawn's comin...

Personally, I thought "Arrival" was a better, or more broad look at the problems of first contact. If you haven't seen it, I'd encourage you to; it was definitely a bit of a mind bender....

Most definitely a pulsar...

Something possessing such titanic levels of energy to be able to generate beams of radio emissions in this intensity has to be from a stellar source.

Of course, the "everything is aliens" crowd out there will immediately point to the 16 day cycle of the beams and go "well, how do you explain THAT?"... To answer them, nature is not all about randomness or entropy. If that was the case, the molecules of life would not be possible. Or stars, or planetary structure... Nature can be extremely symmetrical and orderly when it needs to be. And I mean extremely, on an OCD level. Just look at a trillium blossom. Or a snowflake. Or the helix structure of DNA.

And those who say that there are no straight lines in nature, they are wrong as well. The next time a winter storm is approaching, pay attention to the horizon when that nimbostratus cloud front travels over your head and into the distance. Now tell me if that ain't the darn straightest line you ever saw outside of a workbench measuring rig?...

Intelligent design, mathematics, the intricacy of the eye..........proof of Divine Design.

Yep, thats the logical conclusion IMO.

Or...

It just happened by circumstance via combination of external factors (from nothing) that sprang into existence (again from nothing)...

When you are dealing with something as big as the universe.........circumstance happens.
