Gunsmithing Cost to rechamber a barrel?

thats A LOT twist for a 308 what you gonna shoot? 240gr smk or 230gr berger? jk but its a lot of twist
That twist is way off for a standard 308 Win. Unless you're going to be shooting a too heavy for caliber bullet.
I realize 1:7 is stupid fast for a 308.
16.5" 300 AAC barrels have 1:7 twist for stabilizing heavy subs; I figure a 308 of the same length & twist will work equally well with subs, while being vastly more capable than the 300 AAC with supers for longer range shooting.
Admittedly, this is probably a solution looking for a problem...

Go where no man has ever gone before and try it. Shoot some 110 grainers in it and see if they hold together in flight.

Shouldn't be a big deal to do the work. I would think 100 to 150, assuming no other changes but the chamber.
Everyone tells me that my 1:8 308 is waaaay to fast too, but I'm guessing they learndeded that on the internets, because it is MOA with several loads from 175 to 240's (sub sonic and full tilt loads). It is harder than you would think to over stabilize a bullet, but you will run in to trouble with too slow of a twist. If I remember right, Robert Silvers made a 1:4 twist .308 to settle this debate. I also used to have a .50 with a 1:12 barrel that shot phenomenally.
Dude please allow me to make a suggestion-send it to Chad at LongRifles and get in on the group buy. You end result will exceed expectations.
IMHO, I would just sell the 300BLK barrel and buy a prefit 308 barrel. Wish I had a bit more coin, I would buy your 300BLK ina heartbeat (truck needs a new tranny as a 1st priority).
I had Kevin @ Montour County Rifles rechamber mine for $100 plus $20 bucks shipping. He did a great job, with fast turn around.
