Anybody have a good source for a high quality USGI style cotton web sling.

Thinking about picking a couple up for my .22 and my AR.

Dont see any on the CMP website

Re: Cotton Web slings?

To practice shooting with a sling of course......I dont wanna drop 100 bucks on a sling for my .22 with the cotton web one should do the trick just fine.

I know a tab would probably be best but since I haven't had a chance to shoot with a sling much yet i figured itd be a good cheap start foor the .22

meh....

A good TAB sling could be used across platforms. And you would practice with what you shoot. The TAB sling are also significantly wider and and will not tend to bite you as much.

Just shot my first Appleseed today and sufice it to say I had alot more control using the TAB than alot of guys running the cotton slings. I would also question how well the work when wet.

Not a bad point...i was just looking to get something cheap but just swapping out the TAB is probably a better idea...Plus the real cotton slings I've found are near 30 bucks. The TAB isn't that much more.

The appleseed ones look like nylon and I've been told they're quite slippery, more so when wet.

I was gonna order a new bolt gun but I think I'm gonna stick with my 18" AR and save some cash and practice basics. So I've got some dollars that didn't get burnt on a new rifle to spend anyhow.
