Okay, I already know most people's opinion on this sight toward Counter Sniper, and yes, every one is entitled to their opinion.

<span style="font-style: italic">Guns & Ammo</span>, Dec 2009, Craig Boddington (Yes, the renowned Craig Boddington) pg18-19.

On the Counter Sniper Crusader 10-40X56mm product review

"The optics on the Crusader are very clear....."
"The adjustments tracked very well. ... Impressive."
"Unless you're really serious about long-range shooting, this is not a hunting scope. But it would make a fine varmint scope, and it's <span style="text-decoration: underline">definately ideal for its intended tactical purpose</span>."

Ummmm, either ya'll are dead wrong or Boddington is. I have picked one up at a gun show and looked it over, and I didn't notice anything wrong with what I saw, but I have not used one yet. Therefore, I cannot have an opinion as to how well it performs.

I just can get past Bertrillinum and Bullshitonium. I keep Googling them and all I get are links back to Counter Sniper. While Boddington may have thought the scope performs well, I don't know if I can get past the snake-oil sales pitch.

Does any one here have one they would like to lend out as a tester? If you are too embarassed to admit it openly, feel free to PM me

Without knowing anything about this guy, I can almost prove with 100% certainty that he is indeed wrong.
If he'd be right, than Piston Pete would be right, and this is known with 100% confidence not being true (we've been reiterated proofs of this fact on SH).
Being false the fact of Boddington being right, the only other left choice is him being wrong.

He might be a hell of a hunter, but he don''t know squat about tactical rifles/scopes.

he says in the review that tracking and precision aren't "perfect", but he hasn't encountered many scopes that are. That, by itself, indicates he is out of his element. Any tactical scope that lack consistent and accurate tracking ain't worth using, much less buying.

And, with regards to clarity, keep in mind that Craig loves Leupold glass, so he is unaccustomed to really good optical quality.

Go to the advanced Google search and have the search exclude any hits that contain the words <span style="font-weight: bold">counter</span> and <span style="font-weight: bold">sniper</span>, or the phrase <span style="font-weight: bold">"counter sniper"</span>.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Ty the Sako Guy</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Why are you seeking validation for buying a Counter Sniper scope? </div></div>

I am not seeking validation to buy one. I won't buy one because of the, as I put it earlier, "snake-oil sales pitch". I would however love to borrow one or trick CounterSniper into letting me test/review one. I have a lovely Tasco 10-40 that I think it would run neck and neck with. And no, I didn't buy the Tasco, it was a gift from a family member who has no clue.

Re: Counter Sniper - revisited **again** WTF

guntar, I hate you.

I pulled the following off of the Counter Sniper site:

<span style="color: #FF0000"><span style="font-weight: bold">Revolutionary front and rear reticle focal plane <span style="text-decoration: underline">design</span> dramatically reduces parallax & provides an immovable reticle plane with variable power accuracy identical to fixed power designs</span></span>.

Are they claiming to have a scope that is simultaneously a front and rear focal plane scope? Note I underlined <span style="font-style: italic">design</span> because it's not plural. If it said "designs" then I might believe they meant a front focal plane design and a rear focal plane design. But it's not plural, so now, along with all their other claims, they have a scope that is simultaneously a front and rear focal plane scope.

Re: Counter Sniper - revisited **again** WTF

I went ahead and did the search. As far as I can tell Bertrillium-Zantitium does not exist outside the fraudulent advertisement on the Counter Sniper web site.

It ain't fraud, it is trade marked on the site, meaning they developed these new elements and trade marked them.

Credit where due!

Re: Counter Sniper - revisited **again** WTF

lol. developed new elements! Bet the guys at UC Berkley are eating their hearts out.

hell, why build a particle accelerator to make new elements, all you need is a countersniper and a "dark ops holdings, LLC." advertising rep.

Sure it can be fraud if Bertrillium-Zantitium can be proven to not actually exist but were used none-the-less to sell scopes.

Boddington is what is known as a "Gun Writer Whore".How big was the Dark Ops/Countersniper ad in that issue of Guns and Ammo?At least a Tasco knows it's a Tasco.I'd be willing to bet Boddington would praise Barska if you paid him enough.

Re: Counter Sniper - revisited **again** WTF

you'd think by now someone would've taken them to court for fraud..

betrillium/zantitium bullshit..

what military contract overrun?

at very least they could get in trouble for selling government property without proper legal authorization (the scopes are marked property of the US government after all)

all the reviews I've read of them point to the fact that they're POS scopes that have no place on any rifle apart from those wishing to fufil the mall-ninja/tacticool angle..

Re: Counter Sniper - revisited **again** WTF

My brother actually gave me one of these masterpieces, and at first glance it looked like a badassed scope. As I tinkered around trying my best to make it work, i rapidly came to the conclusion that it truly is what I first thought............BAD. Really, really BAD. At low magnification it might be oK, but as you crank up the power you lose all ability to see a single F'ing thing. This thing is abysmal and is not even a good gift. The recipient will hate you for their remaining days.

Are you retarded?

Your first post on this board is to bring up a Countersniper thread that's a year old.

You are going to do well here. I can tell already.

At least you put some info in your profile.

Re: Counter Sniper - revisited **again** WTF

C'mon Guys,

Boddington is not alone in this. When have you <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-size: 14pt">ever</span></span> seen a bad review in any of the comics??????

If they gave a bad review, nobody would send them toys to play with, now would they?

And NO, I'm not a cynic. I'm a realist with experience.

Re: Counter Sniper - revisited **again** WTF

P L E A S E let these CS threads die!! There is plenty of info available by searching. Why do some choose to dig up dead horses that have been beat to death in order to beat them some more? Let ole Nell rest, for Pete's sake!!!

Re: Counter Sniper - revisited **again** WTF

The thing that gets me is, there are companies (Sportsman's Guide for one) that actually promote these things. I would rather have my boy's CenterPointe from Walmart.

Writers don't get paid to write the truth. They get paid to advertise. Gun rags are non-sense! I personally avoid them like the plague.
