After saving for a decade I finally got my first S&B. It's the Short 5-20. It came with the Tenebrex covers and I hate them.

Been using simple Butler Creek flip-up covers forever and that's what I want but don't know if they'll fit on the S&B because of the scallop rings on the lenses. It doesn't look like the rings will come off? I know Tenebrex sells those rings separately for their covers but does S&B have them (or a S&B version) integrated in their optics?

Thanks

Good example of different strokes for different folks....

I prefer Tenebrex to Butler Creek.

Ive also found Butler Creek to work just fine for me, even in frigid cold, never having experienced the breakage others hate on the BC caps for.

We are shooting 900 meters at Devens 7/9/2019 - you should get your new scope out there and you could stop by Cabelas to pick up some BC caps on the way home.

Ive had a rear BC (yellow flipper) on my USO scope since my USO ocular cap broke 3-4 years ago.

Ive had BC (red flipper) on my Schmidt 5-25 since bought new from Mile High back around 2011.

Ive had BC (both red flippers) on 2 Redfield 3-9s one approx 2 years the other just about three weeks. On these scopes I should have measured at the knurling because it matters, they are probably a thou or so smaller than they should be on the Ocular but they didnt break when forced on.

Premier scope has had Tenebrex since I bought it used and I love them for there rotational ability.

Maybe Im not hard enough on my guns...........

I haven't purchased any new BC's in about two years. Didn't hear about a change in material quality until now.

All the BC's I've used have done their job and taken a lot of abuse. I like them because they don't rotate. They fit tight and are slim so the ocular cap doesn't get in the way of working the bolt. The tight fit also keeps water and sand out. Plus, I can buy replacements if needed for under $20.

I like my Aadmount scope covers. Better material, and robust construction makes them worth the money. I think the reason they always show as not in stock is because Jon builds them to order. Once he gets the order (my experience has been) you have the covers in two to three weeks.
Thanks for posting this link for me!

Hi Phil - Yeah, I'm way overdue for a Devens shoot. I'll try to make it on the 9th. Will be good to catch up!
