I have a small ranch in Montana and a lot of the young deer are being ravaged by the coyote’s so I decided to take it upon myself to remedy the problem.
I have quite a few rifles that could do the job but quite frankly it would be overkill since most are 30 cal. or bigger. Therefore, I decided to build a “yote” specific rifle - I wanted another rifle as well. Unfortunately, I’ve developed the “I want another rifle but don’t need one but build one anyway syndrome.”
Since my normal smith was back logged until the Pope becomes Jewish I took a risk and went with a new gun smith, Dana English of English Rifles. English Rifles - Precision Gunsmithing Dana was referred to me by Robert Gradous and he is endorses by him. English Rifles - Links
I have nothing but accolades for Dana and his work is top shelf. Oh, by the way, his turn around time when compared to other builders is SUPER FAST! Perhaps this is because not many folks know about him – not sure.
Regardless, I’m very impressed with my new toy! The coyotes better not show themselves or they’ll be meeting their maker early.
I’d also like to thank Branden AKA ”Shortbus” from Custom Gun Coatings Custom Gun Coatings for the great paintjob!

• 26” Brux barrel chambered in 243
• McMillan Stock

that turned out great, looks like a shooter too. dont be surprised if the wait times start getting longer from here on out ;)

That rifle is sick! I mean just gorgeous and shoots bugholes to boot. Great choice.

By the way the best trout fishing I ever did was at willow springs reservoir up in Montana. Great Falls was beautiful as well.

Thanks for the compliment!

The best trout fishing I've ever done was in Montana too - floating the Missouri. I love Montana! If there was my line of work there I'd move in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I'm stuck in the PRK (peoples Republic of Komifornia).

I thought some people might ask this question. It's actually an old version of the A3. I'm really not a fan of the "paddle" style stocks out these days. They're too heavy and in my opinion look ugly, but each to his own.....

I was very curious too. I like that pattern better than the current A3's. Is that an old stock you've had waiting; or can you still get that pattern?

Nice rig.

Beautiful rifle!

Montana.... I'll be back this November with my son to hunt Mule deer and Elk. Depending on the weather we hunt Coyote during the midday and have had success. I'm with you, Id move if there was work there.

Excellent Coyote rig! I am from north central MT but usually only manage to get back home once a year for a couple weeks, really miss coyote hunting.

It's an old pattern I've had tucked away for the right build. I'm pretty sure you can't buy one from McMillan anymore but you could perhaps try Ebay or Gunbroker? Best of luck in your search. Actually, maybe you could buy a current A3 and customize it??
