Thank you.

The M14DC suppressor is an SEI/Fisher item.

Re: Crazy Horse M21A5 EBR

We have a production company in Austin, Texas. We are putting together a weapons show. Would you and your weapon like to be part of the show?

How'd you get your grubby mitts on an SEI can? Thought they were Gov/Mil only?

That's quite a bit less than what the complete package is currently worth though.

I was figuring 8 to 9 large. Great deal that is a keeper.

Thanks.

It would take about 9 large to replace it.

I need to secure some quality ammo before I post long range groups.

Re: Crazy Horse M21A5 EBR

Thats a sweet rifle. Those Crazy Horse's are some damn fine rifles. We had 5 of them, 2 of which we got into the EBR stocks while in Iraq. Unfortunately our CO was a douche and wouldn't let the suppressors out of the arms room over in Iraq. What kinda groups does that bad boy shoot?

What a douche!

This rifle is new and only test fired by Ron Smith before delivery.
All I have is a bunch of NATO surplus and that's not the best ammo for accuracy.
Once I get a small stash of quality ammo I'll be heading for a nearby range with 700 yard targets.

The rifle is chambered for M118LR, any suggestions for accurate long range ammo?

Yeah the Federal Gold Match 175gr SMK. Buy it from sportsmansguide for like 34bucks for 20rds. Do You reload yet?
If so Cabelas has Varget powder, and MidwayUSA has the 500rd pack of 175gr SMK's. Primers are the hardest to get ahold of Cabelas is supposed to have em in sometime early next month.

H20 Man don't you get on ebrsopmods alot?
I Live near Colorado Springs the closest place for me to shoot only goes out to 200 yds and takes me about 45 min to get to. I'd love to be able to shoot at 700 with mine. Hell 500 would be great. Till then I'll deal with 1 and 2 and just work on tightening up my groups somemore. Well good luck with the ammo, hopefully their not out yet.

Thank you for the tip. I will try to find some Federal Gold Match 175gr SMK.

No, I don't reload yet, but I plan to change that situation within the next year or so.

I did visit ebrsopmods alot when it started, but these days I spend most of my time over on The M14HDW Forum.

Re: Crazy Horse M21A5 EBR

I've just got started on reloading. I ordered the Hornady LNL AP. It's a really nice piece of machinery. Again Cabelas had the best price. I had to wait for it about a month but that ain't nothing these days. I can't wait to get the wheels churning on it.

Re: Crazy Horse M21A5 EBR

H20Man,

how do you like the smith m14dc suppressor? I'm debating between that one and a YHM suppressor. I already have the vortex on my bolt rifle and the m14dc would be an easy connection. My Class 3 dealer really likes Yankee Hills Machine suppressors. How do you like the way the suppressor connects to the Vortex? Any POI changes with the can on or off?

I chose the SEI/Fisher suppressor because of it's outstanding durability, the ability to rebuild
it in the field and because it fit the DC Vortex flash eliminators already installed on my M14s.
Even though my rifles are semi-auto only, the sustained full auto fire rating is comforting.

I have noticed that the POI is minimal except when shooting sub sonic ammo,
but I have not shot it much beyond 150 yards yet. I have no experience with YHM.

Re: Crazy Horse M21A5 EBR

how and what would you need to rebuild it in the field? After how many rounds would you have to rebuild it again?

The end cap tool and wrench are available from Fisher along with the carrier and lube.
I can only imagine a rebuild would be needed if a baffle is damaged or if you have an end cap strike.
I doubt this is a common occurrence because the cans are built like a tank.

Dave Fisher told me that I should clean it after firing 1K rounds.

"Remove the cap and push out all of the internals using a 3/8" wooden dowel rod.
Lay baffles out in order and wipe off the big chunks.
Brush the inside of the tube with NAPA 1800 Anti Seize grease.
Insert the 1st baffle and bush the tube with Anti Seize and repeat.
Do this until all of the internal are re-installed in the tube in the exact order they were removed.
Grease the threads and re-install the cap.

Note: Since SEI suppressors are rebuildable designs, all internal components are installed
with MD Labs XF-7 compound, so as to facilitate easy removal during rebuild or
maintenance as required. Always ensure to use XF-7 when reinstalling internal
components. A thin coat of XF-7 is also recommended on the coupler,
locking pins and tines of the DC Vortex when reinstalling the suppressor onto the host weapon."

I hope that helps.

Re: Crazy Horse M21A5 EBR

Thanks! that does help.

That is a nice feature to be able to rebuild it yourself if anything ever did happen to it.

Re: Crazy Horse M21A5 EBR

I have decided to replace the standard profile Crazy Horse barrel with a medium heavy Crazy Horse barrel.

The rifle is on it's way back to SEI

Yep. It's an Aimpoint Micro. I have moved it off the scope and down to the rail.
