Crimp or not to crimp?

New to reloading and I was wondering if you crimp .223 AR-15 ammo?
I read in the Speer book I got with the Rock Chucker Set and it read
"always crimp if loading for semi-autos" but I heard guys never crimp their .223 AR ammo. So what to do crimp or no crimp?

i use the Lee Factory Crimp Die to crimp AR ammo. it hasnt affected accuracy in my rifle. now i dont shoot my AR as a match gun, just plinkin and varmint huntin w 55g bullets

I put a very light crimp on bulk ammo that's getting used as cannon fodder. The stuff that's going to a match bullet with a trickled charge weight and carefully prepped brass I do not crimp.
