Crimped Primer.

The military ammo crimps the primer. I have been wondering how they managed to crimp the primer.

They have a machine station where the primer is crimped after its loaded into the case. A rod comes down the inside to support the case head and a punch hits the case forcing brass to move over the edge of the primer holding it in place.
