prob silly ? likely been done before. i looked here and all around on line. most reviews are re newer btr. can't find specific comparisons. seem the gen 1 might have rather mushy turrets. has a "grease" fix i see. reticle is different and "improved" in btr. turrets are more user friendly in btr. glass-same high quality japanese made. any input or direct comparison knowledege? tx for replies.

The BTR turrets are better. I bought a pre-BTR on sale at Cabelas awhile back. It turned me on to the Cronus. For the money they’re an incredible bargain. The adjustments are precise but not crisp if that makes sense. I wouldn’t call them mushy.
That scope ended up replacing a SWFA 5-20 on one of my father’s rifles. The extra magnification and superior reticle made it a no brainer. The turrets felt similar.
I currently have two Cronus BTRs. The turret feel in better than the original Cronus. I really like the reticle so I’m going to probably keep them for awhile. I would still like a slightly stiffer detent, but they are big improvement.

The turrets on both those models were improved, more so in later shipments.
No question the Cronus is a superior scope in most ways. Heck the Midas TAC turned out better than the Ares BTR, well except for the reticle.
