Cross hair out out of focus

Hi guys,

Sorry im new to the game and i've been reading a pile of things trying to get to the bottom of my problem with new albeit used gun, maybe you can help?

The scope that came with it is a Nikko scope (4x32) fixed - as in picture.

The problem i have is that the cross hairs are fuzzy and i would like to bring them into focus. The thread just down from the eyepiece doesn't seem to have an rotation in it, i've tried cleaning it up and putting WD40, its to the point where im starting to wonder if its merely aesthetic or it once turned?

Are any of you able to shed light on this particular model?

Turn eyepiece (Nikko marked) left, while turning the locking ring (just infront of eyepiece) to the right. Should separate the two allowing you to adjust focus. When in focus do the opposite to lock it back down.

Also aim the scope at the sky to dial the crosshairs.

Helps to have the solid blue back ground to get the reticle focused easier imho.

And stop putting penetrating oil on your scope unless you want it inside.

if I ever do need to lubricate something on a scope what kind of oil should I be using? 3-1?

Scope + oil = BAD

If you need to lube anything on a scope then something is very wrong and you need to send it back for service, IMO.
