This confused me a little as well. The way I understand it, the cartridges are almost the same, but the .308 cartridge is just a little higher pressure. I figured for this reason you shouldn't shoot .308 in a 7.62 NATO rifle. I called Karey a few months ago just to check, and he said that there is no difference in their rifles that are rolled 7.62 NATO or .308. So you should be good to go.
