I am curious, does anyone have any pics of there AICS Chasis without the skins on? I am curious to what it looks like. I was looking at the viper skins from Victor Company, made me think about it.

The skins are only there to house the chassis so the Viper skins will give the rifle a different feel while not affecting how the chassis and action work together.

No. The AI AE MkII is a complete rifle from Accuracy International. It is a different action, trigger, etc. It is totally different from a Remington 700 pattern action in an AICS. The chassis is very similar, but you cannot bolt a 700 into a AE MkII chassis.

Re: curious about the AICS Stock

I really like the ergo's on the AICS stock but they are heavy for hunting. I wish Manners or McM would make a light weight version.

The main thing to me is how the hole in the AICS stock is closer to the trigger while the Manners thumb hole stock is about an inch further back. Seems like I really have to reach for the trigger that way.

i never got a chance to weight it. if my math was correct, i'd estimate about 1/2 lb of material removed.

I don't suppose you still have the program for that kicking around somewhere that you'd be willing to share?

What is that plate it looks like you installed on the bottom in the final picture?

this was not my chassis. the plate was something the owner put together as backing for a picatinny rail mounted to the bottom of the chassis.

i do still have the program for this but i apologize, it's not something i am willing to share at this time.

Re: curious about the AICS Stock

Getting the language right will help.

AICS is an acronym for Accuracy International Chassis System

So "AICS stock" is like ATM machine, or Accuracy International Chassis Stock stock, Automated Teller Machine machine.

An AICS is for Rem 700's. The fore bolt screws into the action.

An AIAE's fore bolt screws into the recoil lug.

Yup. There's a thread in the rimfire section detailing a DIY chassis build that uses AI skins.

Whit, If you like the Viper Skins, check out the ACIS AX Chassis Systems. I had one briefly and loved it. Would definitely buy another. Very comfortable and solid. A bit heavy but easier to handle than my McMillan A4.

I Regret selling it but my friend is a Recon guy and he could make better practical use of it than me so I sold it to him.

It's cheaper than buying the regular ACIS and upgrading to Viper Skins. The AX takes different magazines than the older models but they're double stacked and handier.

AX chassis is backwards compatible with AICS magazines.
