Thank you for accepting me into this group. I’m a novice who wants to be better. Currently shooting my 223 Wylde comfortably to 750 yds with 75-77 grain hand loads (paper and steel targets). My co-shooters shoot 50BMG, 338LM and 338 NM. I enjoy shooting their Magnums. My next rifle will be intended to move out past 1000 yds towards the mile mark. I’m debating 6.5CM (more 1000-1500) .300 PRC, 300 NM. 338 is too expensive for my blood to shoot. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Welcome! 6.5 creed is great for 1k to maybe 1500 and is cheap and easy to shoot due to low recoil. I love mine. it’ll give you a big step up from 223 and you’ll want one even if you eventually go to a big magnum.

Much further than that and I think the heavier options would be better as it’ll be easier to see the trace and they should stay stable longer. 300 PRC would be my choice in the bigger than 6.5 creed category.

Btw I’m also in CO, just west of Denver.

Welcome to the Hide from Middle Georgia. Sounds like you're already well into the sport and have some great aspirations for increasing your proficiency. From my small perspective, of all the calibers you listed, the most common I see in stores large and small is the Creedmore. It's easiest and least expensive to obtain right now. But keep us posted and god luck and happy shooting to ya Brother, glad to have ya...
