Gunsmithing Custom Pistol Grip

Guys I'm interested in designing a pistol grip that will give me a more consistant 90 degree placement on the trigger. I have a McRee stock so changing the grip out won't be a problem. Should I use wood, epoxy, or some other compound? Any help would be appreciated.
